Day One-March 1, 2013

For the month of March I will be participating in Orgjunkie.com's organizational challenge.  I am not a blogger, but I thought I would use this venue to track my progress.  I have high hopes, as I have had in the past, that we will be successful.  We shall see, though.  I haven't, as of yet, finished one of these projects.  And I say we because I will be attempting to organize my daughter's room and I have every intention of having her help me.  It's her room after all and she needs to learn these skills early on so that she doesn't end up like me. . .lost when it comes to organizing.  So here we go!

The pictures below were taken yesterday, March 1st.  Do we have our work cut out for us or what?!?  Ha ha ha.  She's got a VERY small room so any amount of clutter makes it looks messy.  One thing she wants to do is to get rid of the baker's racks - they are taking up valuable real estate in her room and are harboring clutter that she almost NEVER utilizes.  She's got two small side closets that hold her nicer clothes and the larger closet in the middle used to house a pull down bed before we moved in.  Dad plans on creating some more closet space for her to hang more things up.  She also wants to rearrange her furniture.

Any thoughts or ideas anyone who is reading this has, please, please, PLEASE feel free to throw out at me.  This is so not my area of expertise.  Thanks for following.

HER DAY BED

DAY BED & DRESSER IN THE LEFT PIC
BOOKSHELF, 1 BAKER'S RACK & DESK IN RIGHT PIC.
YES, I AM WORKING ON HER TO PUT HER CLOTHES AWAY RIGHT AWAY.  :o)

LITTLE CLOSET ON THE LEFT HOLDS JACKETS, SWEATERS, ETC. & DRESSES
CLOSET ON THE RIGHT IS THE ONLY ORGANIZED SPACE IN HER ROOM.  THAT'S WHERE HER DRESSY TOPS & NICE PANTS GO AS WELL AS HER SCHOOL UNIFORM.  I'VE GOT A SET OF SHEETS IN THE PURPLE BIN ON THE FLOOR.

THIS IS THE MIDDLE CLOSET AREA.  INSIDE IS THE 2ND BAKER'S RACK THAT SHE WANTS TO GET RID OF.  DAD WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO MOVE IT OUT TO HIS GARAGE, BUT WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THAT STUFF?

THE PICTURES ABOVE IS WHAT I DID A FEW WEEKS AGO.  I REFOLDED ALL THE CLOTHES IN HER DRAWERS AND SHE LOVED IT!!!  SHE WAS READY TO KEEP GOING TO DO THE REST OF HER ROOM, BUT THEN LIFE GOT IN THE WAY AND SHE SLOWLY LOST MOMENTUM.  SO FOR NOW IT'S UP TO ME TO KEEP THE EXCITEMENT GOING.

  1. That's a great goal. I applaud you for starting a blog for the challenge. I'm late getting into this, but I think I might join in also. Will have to start a blog as well. :)

    1. Thanks KH! It's always encouraging to see someone appreciate what you're trying to do. You should totally do a blog. It's super easy at gmail. All you have to do is click the "blogger" option, upload some pictures and if you want, type a little text. Oh and you're not too late. It's only the first week of March after all. Just do something and keep moving forward! :o)
